Seeing is Believing
The phenomenon of UFO sightings is one that has captivated and perplexed humans for decades. Some UFO sightings turn out to be explainable, while others have no logical explanation and have been found to baffle even the experts. With that in mind, here are 5 sightings to consider.
1. Virginia 1952
In July of 1952, seven unknown objects showed up on radar over restricted airspace near the Pentagon. Air traffic controllers and military officials were baffled, so fighter jets were scrambled. As the jets neared the radar blips, they disappeared, only to reappear as soon as the jets landed. Even President Harry S. Truman was informed, but despite several official investigations, the event has never been explained.
2. Chicago 2006
During 2006, multiple United Airlines personnel at Chicago's O'Hare Airport reported seeing a silent, metallic, saucer-shaped craft hovering above Gate C17. The object was seen motionless for several minutes before suddenly accelerating through the clouds at indescribable speed, breaking through the overcast sky and leaving a visible hole in the clouds. Despite a large number of witnesses and alleged video evidence, the FAA considered it a weather balloon and refused to investigate the incident.
3. Zimbabwe 1994
In the morning of one day in 1994, over 60 schoolchildren in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, reported seeing a silver object land in a field near the schoolyard and two little beings step out of it. The children reported the creatures as having big heads, thin bodies, and black suits. They also reported the little beings as talking telepathically to the children about the destruction of the environment and the end of the world.
4. Nevada 2024
In May 2024, Katrina, a woman in Nevada, and her friends witnessed a mysterious moving light that appeared as a glowing orb in the night sky over Henderson, Nevada. The orb moved rapidly in a diagonal direction, then suddenly moved in a different direction in a series of abrupt vertical motions, just as an airplane flew in close proximity to the strange light. A recording of the incident clearly captured the event on video, but despite its verifiability, no witnesses, including local law enforcement and the FAA, have an explanation for what they saw.
5. Northwest Territories 2023
In January 2023, pilots flying near Yellowknife reported seeing two white lights moving in circles above their plane, even though no other aircraft were detected on radar. The lights danced erratically in the sky, visible to both the crew and air traffic controllers who confirmed no scheduled traffic in the area. The pilots, unnerved but calm, radioed back with a memorable line: “We’re not crazy.”
