The earth is home to several marvels of tectonic plate activity we call mountains. They create some of the world's most dramatic and breathtaking landscapes, from the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas to the ricky ridges of the Andes. 1. Himalayas

The Ethiopian Highlands are often referred to as "the roof of Africa" for being home to the highest continuous plateau in the area. They're also home to some of Africa's rarest species, such as the Ethiopian wolf.
