How Much Do You Know About Octopuses?
With their eight limbs, nine brains, and blue blood, octopuses may be the most bizarre animal on the planet. However, just because they're weird doesn't make them any less incredible. From regenerating limbs to camouflaging spectacularly, here are five amazing facts about octopuses.

1. They Have Blue Blood
Like the royalty they are, octopuses have blue blood. This is because it's not powered by iron, but by copper, which is more efficient at transferring oxygen in cold temperatures.

2. The Have Nine Brains
Octopuses have one large central brain plus one for each of their eight limbs. This allows each arm to act semi-independently and have the ability to taste and touch.
3. They're Super Intelligent
Octopuses are the most intelligent invertebrates. They can solve complex problems, learn new things, use tools, complete mazes, and show playfulness.
4. They're Shapeshifters
Containing skin cells that allow them to mimic coral, sand, or other sea creatures, octopuses are masters of camouflage. They can change color, texture, and even shape.
5. They Have Regenerative Limbs
If an octopus loses an arm, it can regrow a new one in a matter of weeks. Over time, it gains muscle and even the ability to taste and sense touch just like the original.
