5 Things That Would Happen To You If We Lost Gravity

The Day Everything Stopped Staying Put

Gravity is one of those forces you barely think about until you imagine life without it. Go ahead, give it a try. Did the whole world start sounding wildly inconvenient? You’re on the right track then! If gravity suddenly disappeared, your day would become absolute chaos almost immediately. Just in case you don’t believe us, let’s go through a few ways this simple change would cause a nationwide emergency.

You’d Stop Standing In About Two Seconds

First things first: standing would no longer be an option. Without gravity, your body would drift upward or sideways, depending on whatever motion sends you off course. Even the simple act of turning your head or pushing off a wall could send you gliding across the room.

Eating and Drinking Would Become Difficult

Oh, you want a little chow without gravity? Good luck! Your cereal wouldn’t stay in the bowl, your sandwich would wander off, and every sip of water would turn into a floating problem. Seriously, we wouldn’t stand a chance.

Your Home Would Turn Against You

A house only feels stable because everything inside it remains held down. Remove gravity, however, and that cooperation ends. You wouldn’t just have to worry about yourself floating away; you’d also have to worry about every ordinary object drifting into one another.

Movement Would Be Far More Annoying

At first, floating might sound like fun, and for five optimistic seconds, it probably would be.

After that, though, you’d discover that getting anywhere without gravity isn’t in the cards. Walking would be gone, balance would be meaningless, and every movement would need to be planned beforehand.

Normal Life Would Disappear

Perhaps the strangest part is that nearly every habit depends on gravity in one way or another. The familiar rhythm of daily life would collapse almost at once, leaving you to realize just how much of your comfort relies on an invisible force that’s been working behind the scenes.
